Let’s Inspire the Next Generation of Para-athletes
Kids like Grace deserve to reach for their dreams. You can help them get there.
Grace’s Big Dream
Grace was born with a condition that limits her mobility and reduces her muscle strength. But she won’t let that get her down. After meeting her Paralympic hero, Ellie Cole, and falling in love with wheelchair basketball, 8-year-old Grace has a BIG dream.
"It was so exciting to be out on the court. I felt like nothing was holding me back, which is sometimes how I feel. I’d love to compete for Australia at the 2032 Paralympic Games in Brisbane in wheelchair basketball or swimming … or maybe both. I would feel proud to represent my country."
- Grace
Will you share the gift of sport with the next generation of Para-athletes, kids like Grace, and inspire them to redefine what is possible for all people living with disability?
Paralympics Australia does more than just get a team to the Games every 2 years.
Paralympics Australia is a non-profit organisation that advocates for a more inclusive society for people living with disabilities.
Sadly, the barriers to participating in sport can be huge for young people living with impairments. Many require expensive equipment like wheelchairs to take their place in the game, race, or event. Others need specialist support to play the sports they love. Some just don’t know these sports exist.
We work tirelessly to change that. We work hard to normalise disability and create a more inclusive society so EVERYONE can participate in sport.
But these initiatives cannot fully be implemented without you.
Your generous gift today can help us do more to help young people like Grace reach their dreams. Your ongoing support can help us expand our programs in schools, develop better, innovative equipment and identify and coach the next generation of Para-athletes.
Give young people like Grace the opportunity they deserve to get involved in sport. Become a regular supporter today.
When Grace goes to bed each night, there’s a framed and autographed photo of her and Ellie Cole by her bedside to keep her focused on her Paralympic dreams.
But, even if Grace doesn’t become an elite athlete, sport is having a powerful and positive impact on her life in so many other ways.
"It’s not just about achieving. It’s also about the opportunity for her to participate. To feel like she’s part of something and to build friendships. It also gives her the chance to stay fit and healthy doing something she enjoys."
- Joanne, Grace’s mum.
Every child, whatever their ability, deserves the opportunity to enjoy those life-changing benefits. To feel confident, part of a team. To feel like they belong.
By donating today, you can ensure they do.
