Help Para-athletes create memorable, life-changing moments
Dave’s life-changing moment
A single moment changed Dave Miln’s life forever. In 2022, the loving father of two and serving military member lost both his legs and suffered critical spinal damage in an horrific accident on the ski slopes.
While happy to be alive, Dave also felt a strong sense of uncertainty about what the future would look like for him and his family. As he struggled through the toughest battle he’d ever faced, para-sport gave him a powerful reason to keep going.
“It’s given me hope and a reason to keep going when I feel like giving up,” he says. “It’s given me goals, direction and something to strive for.”

In the three years since his accident, Dave has already represented Australia in an international Para-biathlon event and won a silver medal at the Invictus Games, where he was also a flag-bearer.
He’s now vying for selection to represent Australia at the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina. It’s a remarkable achievement, and a powerful example of the inspiring, lifechanging moments para-sport can provide to people like Dave.

Moments that inspire
For Dave Miln, competing at the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games is about so much more than personal achievement.
“More important for me is showing my two daughters that whatever life throws at you, you can adapt and overcome. You can still achieve your dreams with what you’re given,” he says.
“Para-sport is a community unlike anything else. It’s inclusive, welcoming, and there’s always someone willing to help. I want to get that message out there, because allowing more people like me to get into sport is incredibly important.”
Whether it’s going for gold or connecting with a local club, para-sport gives people hope, purpose and a pathway forward.
